objective: Although calcific aortic valve disease (CAVD) is a common valvular disease among elderly populations and its incidence has markedly increased in recent decades, the pathogenesis of CAVD remains unclear. In this study, we explored the potential role of interleukin (IL)-22 and the underlying molecular mechanism in CAVD. results: Our results showed that IL-22 was upregulated in calcific aortic valves from CAVD patients, and its main sources were CD3 T cells and CD68 macrophages.
